Chain of narrators

machine translationʿĪsā b. Yūnus narrated to us, from ʿUmar, the freed slave of Ghufrah, who said: Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad, one of the descendants of ʿAlī, narrated to me, he said:

Machine translation, not reviewed

When ʿAlī described the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would say: He was not very tall and lanky, nor short and stunted. He was of medium height among men. His hair was curly, but he was not tightly curled, nor was it lank; it was wavy and combed. He was not plump-faced, nor round-chinned; his face had some roundness. He was white tinged with redness, with deep black eyes and long eyelashes, with large joints and a broad upper back between the shoulders. He was without much body hair, with a fine line of hair running from the chest to the navel. His hands and feet were thick and strong. When he walked, he lifted his feet briskly, as if walking down a slope. When he turned, he turned with his whole body. Between his shoulders was the seal of prophethood, and he is the seal of the prophets. He was the most generous of people in hand, the boldest of people in heart, the most truthful of people in speech, the most faithful of people to a covenant, the gentlest of them in temperament, and the most noble of them in companionship. Whoever saw him suddenly stood in awe of him, and whoever mixed with him knowing him loved him. His describer would say: I have not seen anyone like him, before him or after him.
