Ibn al-Zubayr used not to give the sister anything together with the daughter, until I told him that Muʿādh had ruled in Yemen concerning a daughter and a full sister (from both father and mother): the daughter receives half and the sister receives half. Then he said: "You are my messenger to Ibn ʿUtbah, so command him to do that."
