✧ On greeting the People of the Covenant, and those who said companionship has a right

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ:
أَقْبَلْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللهِ مِنَ السَّيْلَحِينِ [١]فَصَحِبَهُ دَهَّاقِينُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْحِيرَةِ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلُوا الْكُوفَةَ أَخَذُوا فِي طَرِيقٍ غَيْرِ طَرِيقِهِمْ، فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِمْ فَرَآهُمْ قَدْ عَدَلُوا، فَأَتْبَعَهُمُ السَّلَامَ، فَقُلْتُ: أَتُسَلِّمُ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ الْكُفَّارِ ؟! فَقَالَ: نَعَمْ، إِنَّهُمْ صَحِبُونِي، وَلِلصُّحْبَةِ حَقٌّ
