✧ Those who said the absent husband must provide; if he sends provision, fine; otherwise he is divorced

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ:
كَتَبَ عُمَرُ إِلَى أُمَرَاءِ الْأَجْنَادِ فِيمَنْ غَابَ عَنْ نِسَائِهِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ أَنْ يَرْجِعُوا إِلَى نِسَائِهِمْ، إِمَّا أَنْ يُفَارِقُوا وَإِمَّا أَنْ يَبْعَثُوا بِالنَّفَقَةِ، فَمَنْ فَارَقَ مِنْهُمْ فَلْيَبْعَثْ بِنَفَقَةِ مَا تَرَكَ
