Abū Qatādah was with a group of men in a state of iḥrām, while Abū Qatādah was not in iḥrām. His companions saw a wild donkey and did not tell him until he saw it himself. He snatched a whip from one of them and struck the animal down. They ate and carried some of it with them. Then they met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him [about it] [1]. He said: "Did any of you point to it?" They said: "No." He said: "Then eat."
