Translation
✧ The description of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the Gospel [The glad tidings of John the disciple about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ] Ibn Isḥāq said: And there had been, according to what has reached me about what Jesus son of Mary had set down in what came to him from Allah in the Gospel for the people of the Gospel, of the description of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, among what John the disciple established for them, when he copied out the Gospel for them from the covenant of Jesus son of Mary ﷺ concerning the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to them, that he said: Whoever hates me has hated the Lord. And had I not performed in their presence works that no one before me had performed, they would have had no sin. But from now they have become insolent and thought that they will overpower me, and also the Lord. But the word that is in the Law must be fulfilled: 'They hated me without cause,' that is, in vain. If then comes this Munḥamannā whom Allah sends to you from the Lord, (and) the Spirit of Holiness, this one who came forth from the Lord, he is a witness concerning me, and you also, because you have long been with me. For this reason I have spoken to you, so that you may not doubt. Al-Munḥamannā (in Syriac): Muḥammad; and it is in Greek: al-Barqalīṭis, ﷺ.
