The reports of the Jewish rabbis, Christian monks, and soothsayers and their glad tidings of the sending of the Beloved of the Most Merciful ﷺ
Translation
✧ [ The narration of the soothsayer of Janb about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ] Ibn Isḥāq said: ʿAlī b. Nāfiʿ al-Jurashī narrated to me: Janb, a clan from Yemen, had a soothsayer in the Age of Ignorance. When the affair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was mentioned and spread among the Arabs, Janb said to him: "Look into the affair of this man for us." They gathered for him at the foot of his mountain, and he came down to them when the sun rose. He stood before them leaning on a bow of his, raised his head toward the sky for a long while, then began to leap. Then he said: "O people, Allah has honored Muḥammad and chosen him, purified his heart and his inward being. His stay among you, O people, will be short." Then he climbed back up his mountain, returning whence he had come.
