Translation

✧ [The children of Anmār] Ibn Isḥāq said: Anmār was the father of Khathʿam and Bajīlah. Jarīr b. ʿAbd Allāh al-Bajalī, who was the chief of Bajīlah, and about whom a poet said: : Were it not for Jarīr, Bajīlah would have perished; excellent is the young man, and wretched is the tribe. He vied in glory with al-Furāfiṣah al-Kalbī before al-Aqraʿ b. Ḥābis al-Tamīmī (b. ʿIqāl b. Mujāshiʿ b. Dārim b. Mālik b. Ḥanẓalah b. Mālik b. Zayd Manāh): : O Aqraʿ b. Ḥābis, O Aqraʿ, if your brother is thrown down, you will be thrown down. And he said: : O two sons of Nizār, help your brother, for you will find my father to be your father. A brother who befriends you will not be overcome today. And they went toward Yemen and joined it. Ibn Hishām said: The people of Yemen say: Bajīlah is Anmār b. Irāsh b. Liḥyān b. ʿAmr b. al-Ghawth b. Nabt b. Mālik b. Zayd b. Kaḥlān b. Sabaʾ; and it is also said: Irāsh b. ʿAmr b. Liḥyān b. al-Ghawth. The abode of Bajīlah and Khathʿam is Yemeni.
