Then the year 359 AH began
فِي عَاشِرِ الْمُحَرَّمِ مِنْهَا عَمِلَتِ الرَّوَافِضُ بِدْعَتَهُمُ الشَّنْعَاءَ، فَغُلِّقَتِ الْأَسْوَاقُ، وَتَعَطَّلَتِ الْمَعَايِشُ، وَدَارَتِ النِّسَاءُ سَافِرَاتٍ عَنْ وُجُوهِهِنَّ يَنُحْنَ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَيَلْطِمْنَ وُجُوهَهُنَّ، وَالْمُسُوحُ مُعَلَّقَةٌ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ، وَالتِّبْنُ مَذْرُورٌ فِيهَا.
Translation
✧ On the tenth of Muḥarram of this year, the Rāfiḍah performed their abominable innovation. The markets were closed, livelihoods ceased, and the women went about with their faces unveiled, wailing over al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī and striking their faces. Sackcloth was hung in the markets, and straw was scattered in them.
