Then the year 358 AH began
وَفِيهَا فِي شَعْبَانَ، وَقَعَتْ حَرْبٌ بَيْنَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الدَّاعِي الْعَلَوِيِّ وَبَيْنَ عَلَوِيٍّ آخَرَ يُعْرَفُ بِأُمَيْرَكْ، وَهُوَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الثَّائِرُ فِي اللَّهِ، قُتِلَ فِيهَا خَلْقٌ كَثِيرٌ مِنَ الدَّيْلَمِ وَالْجِيلِ، وَأُسِرَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنُ الدَّاعِي، وَسُجِنَ فِي قَلْعَةٍ، ثُمَّ أُطْلِقَ فِي الْمُحَرَّمِ سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ [ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ ] وَعَادَ إِلَى رِئَاسَتِهِ، وَصَارَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ صَاحِبَ جَيْشِهِ.
Translation
✧ In this year, in Shaʿbān, a war took place between Abū ʿAbd Allāh b. al-Dāʿī al-ʿAlawī and another ʿAlawī known as Umayrak, who was Abū Jaʿfar al-Thāʾir fī Allāh. In it, a great many of the Daylam and the Jīl were killed, and Abū ʿAbd Allāh b. al-Dāʿī was taken captive and imprisoned in a fortress, then he was released in al-Muḥarram of the year fifty-nine and three hundred, and he returned to his leadership, and Abū Jaʿfar became the commander of his army.
