Then the year 354 AH began
وَفِيهَا نَزَلَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَ التُّرْكِ عَلَى بِلَادِ الْخَزَرِ ، فَانْتَصَرَ الْخَزَرُ بِأَهْلِ خُوَارَزْمَ فَلَمْ يُنْجِدُوهُمْ وَقَالُوا: أَنْتُمْ كُفَّارٌ، فَإِنْ أَسْلَمْتُمْ نَصَرْنَاكُمْ، فَأَسْلَمُوا إِلَّا مِلْكَهُمْ، فَنَصَرَهُمْ أَهْلُ خُوَارَزْمَ وَأَزَالُوا التُّرْكَ عَنْهُمْ، ثُمَّ أَسْلَمَ مَلِكُهُمْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ.
Translation
✧ In this year, a party of the Turks descended upon the land of the Khazar. The Khazar sought help from the people of Khwārazm, but they did not assist them and said: 'You are disbelievers. If you embrace Islam, we will help you.' So they embraced Islam, except for their king. Then the people of Khwārazm helped them and expelled the Turks from their land. After that, their king embraced Islam.
