Then the year 347 AH began
فِيهَا كَانَتْ زَلْزَلَةٌ بِبَغْدَادَ فِي شَهْرِ نِيسَانَ وَفِي غَيْرِهَا مِنَ الْبِلَادِ الشَّرْقِيَّةِ، فَمَاتَ بِسَبَبِهَا خَلْقٌ كَثِيرٌ، وَخَرِبَتْ دَوْرٌ كَثِيرَةٌ، وَظَهَرَ فِي آخِرِ نِيسَانَ وَشَهْرِ أَيَّارَ جَرَادٌ كَثِيرٌ أَتْلَفَ الْغَلَّاتِ الصَّيْفِيَّةَ وَالثِّمَارَ.
Translation
✧ In it there was an earthquake in Baghdad in the month of Nīsān and in other eastern lands, and many people died because of it, and many houses were ruined. At the end of Nīsān and the month of Ayyār, a great deal of locusts appeared which destroyed the summer crops and the fruits.
