Then the year 347 AH began
وَدَخَلَتِ الرُّومُ آمِدَ وَمَيَّافَارِقِينَ، فَقَتَلُوا أَلْفًا وَخَمْسَمِائَةِ إِنْسَانٍ، وَأَخَذُوا مَدِينَةَ سُمَيْسَاطَ وَأَخْرَبُوهَا . فَإِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ.
Translation
✧ And the Byzantines entered Āmid and Mayyāfāriqīn, and they killed one thousand five hundred people, and they took the city of Sumaysāṭ and destroyed it. So truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.
