ذِكْرُ مُخَالِفَةِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ بِطُوسَ كَانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ بِطُوسَ وَأَعْمَالِهَا، وَهِيَ فِي يَدِهِ وَيَدِ نُوَّابِهِ، فَخَالَفَ عَلَى الْأَمِيرِ نُوحِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ السَّامَانِيِّ، وَكَانَ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ قَرَاتَكِينَ صَاحِبَ جَيْشِ خُرَاسَانَ بِمَرْوَ عِنْدَ نُوحٍ، فَوَصَلَ إِلَيْهِمَا وَشْمَكِيرُ مُنْهَزِمًا مِنْ جُرْجَانَ، قَدْ غَلَبَهُ عَلَيْهَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْفَيْرُزَانِ، فَأَمَرَ نُوحٌ مَنْصُورًا بِالْمَسِيرِ إِلَى نَيْسَابُورَ، وَمُحَارَبَةِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ وَأَخْذِ مَا بِيَدِهِ مِنَ الْأَعْمَالِ، ثُمَّ يَسِيرُ مَعَ وَشْمَكِيرَ إِلَى جُرْجَانَ، فَسَارَ مَنْصُورٌ وَوَشْمَكِيرُ إِلَى نَيْسَابُورَ، وَكَانَ بِهَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، فَفَارَقَهَا نَحْوَ أُسْتُوا، فَاتَّبَعَهُ مَنْصُورٌ، فَسَارَ مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَى جُرْجَانَ، وَكَاتَبَ رُكْنَ الدَّوْلَةِ بْنَ بُوَيْهِ، وَاسْتَأْمَنَ إِلَيْهِ، فَأَمَرَهُ بِالْوُصُولِ إِلَى الرَّيِّ. وَسَارَ مَنْصُورٌ مِنْ نَيْسَابُورَ إِلَى طُوسَ، وَحَصَرُوا رَافِعَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ بِقَلْعَةِ شَمِيلَانَ، فَاسْتَأْمَنَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ رَافِعٍ إِلَيْهِ، فَهَرَبَ رَافِعٌ مِنْ شَمِيلَانَ إِلَى حِصْنِ دَرَكَ، فَاسْتَوْلَى مَنْصُورٌ عَلَى شَمِيلَانَ، ( وَأَخَذَ مَا فِيهَا مِنْ مَالٍ وَغَيْرِهِ )، وَاحْتَمَى رَافِعٌ بِدَرَكَ، وَبِهَا أَهْلُهُ وَوَالِدَتُهُ، وَهِيَ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ فَرَاسِخَ مِنْ شَمِيلَانَ، ( فَأَخْرَبَ مَنْصُورٌ شَمِيلَانَ )، وَسَارَ إِلَى دَرَكَ فَحَاصَرَهَا، وَحَارَبَهُمْ عِدَّةَ أَيَّامٍ، فَتَغَيَّرَتِ الْمِيَاهُ بِدَرَكَ، فَاسْتَأْمَنَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ إِلَى مَنْصُورٍ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَمِّهِ وَأَهْلِهِ، وَعَمِدَ أَخُوهُ رَافِعٌ إِلَى الصَّامِتِ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ، وَالْجَوَاهِرِ، وَأَلْقَاهَا فِي الْبُسُطِ إِلَى تَحْتِ الْقَلْعَةِ، وَنَزَلَ هُوَ وَجَمَاعَةٌ فَأَخَذُوا تِلْكَ الْأَمْوَالَ وَتَفَرَّقُوا فِي الْجِبَالِ. وَاحْتَوَى مَنْصُورٌ عَلَى مَا كَانَ فِي قَلْعَةِ دَرَكَ، وَأَنْفَذَ عِيَالَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ وَوَالِدَتِهِ إِلَى بُخَارَى فَاعْتُقِلُوا بِهَا، وَأَمَّا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ فَإِنَّهُ سَارَ مِنْ جُرْجَانَ إِلَى الرَّيِّ، وَبِهَا رُكْنُ الدَّوْلَةِ بْنُ بُوَيْهِ، فَأَكْرَمَهُ رُكْنُ الدَّوْلَةِ، وَأَحْسَنَ إِلَيْهِ، وَحَمَلَ إِلَيْهِ شَيْئًا كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَغَيْرِهَا، وَسَرَّحَهُ إِلَى مُحَارَبَةِ الْمَرْزُبَانِ عَلَى مَا نَذْكُرُهُ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the opposition of Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Razzāq in Ṭūs Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Razzāq was in Ṭūs and its districts, which were in his hands and those of his deputies. He opposed the amīr Nūḥ b. Naṣr al-Sāmānī. Manṣūr b. Qarātakīn, commander of the army of Khurāsān, was with Nūḥ in Marw. Washmakīr joined them, fleeing defeated from Jurjān, from which al-Ḥasan b. al-Fayruzān had expelled him. Nūḥ ordered Manṣūr to march to Naysābūr, fight Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Razzāq, seize the districts in his possession, then march with Washmakīr to Jurjān. Manṣūr and Washmakīr marched to Naysābūr, where Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Razzāq was. He left it toward Ustuwā. Manṣūr followed him. Muḥammad went to Jurjān and wrote to Rukn al-Dawlah b. Buwayh, seeking protection from him. He ordered him to come to al-Rayy. Manṣūr marched from Naysābūr to Ṭūs. They besieged Rāfiʿ b. ʿAbd al-Razzāq in the fortress of Shamīlān. Some of Rāfiʿ's companions sought protection from him, so Rāfiʿ fled from Shamīlān to the fortress of Darak. Manṣūr took possession of Shamīlān and seized the money and goods in it. Rāfiʿ took refuge in Darak, where his family and mother were. It is three parasangs from Shamīlān. Manṣūr destroyed Shamīlān and marched to Darak, besieging it. He fought them for several days. The water in Darak became bad. Aḥmad b. ʿAbd al-Razzāq sought protection from Manṣūr with a group of his paternal uncles and family. His brother Rāfiʿ took the portable wealth and jewels, threw them down in carpets below the fortress, and descended with a group. They took that wealth and dispersed in the mountains. Manṣūr seized what was in the fortress of Darak. He sent the family of Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Razzāq and his mother to Bukhārā, where they were imprisoned. As for Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Razzāq, he marched from Jurjān to al-Rayy, where Rukn al-Dawlah b. Buwayh was. Rukn al-Dawlah honored him and treated him well, sending him much money and other things. He dispatched him to fight al-Marzubān, as we shall mention.
