Then the year 335 AH began
ذِكْرُ اسْتِيلَاءِ رُكْنِ الدَّوْلَةِ عَلَى الرَّيِّ لَمَّا كَانَ مِنْ عَسَاكِرِ خُرَاسَانَ مَا ذَكَرْنَاهُ مِنَ الِاخْتِلَافِ، وَعَادَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ إِلَى خُرَاسَانَ، رَجَعَ رُكْنُ الدَّوْلَةِ إِلَى الرَّيِّ وَاسْتَوْلَى عَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى سَائِرِ أَعْمَالِ الْجَبَلِ، وَأَزَالَ عَنْهَا الْخُرَاسَانِيَّةَ، وَعَظُمَ مُلْكُ بَنِي بُوَيْهِ، فَإِنَّهُمْ صَارَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ أَعْمَالُ الرَّيِّ، وَالْجَبَلِ، وَفَارِسَ، وَالْأَهْوَازِ، وَالْعِرَاقِ، وَيُحْمَلُ إِلَيْهِمْ ضَمَانُ الْمَوْصِلِ، وَدِيَارُ بَكْرٍ، وَدِيَارُ مُضَرَ ( مِنَ الْجَزِيرَةِ ).
Translation
✧ Mention of Rukn al-Dawlah's seizure of al-Rayy When the Khurasan armies experienced the dissension we have mentioned, and Abu ʿAli returned to Khurasan, Rukn al-Dawlah went back to al-Rayy and took possession of it and of all the districts of al-Jibal. He removed the Khurasanis from it, and the dominion of the Banu Buwayh grew great, for in their hands came to be the districts of al-Rayy, al-Jibal, Fars, al-Ahwaz, and al-ʿIraq, and to them was conveyed the tax-farming guarantee of al-Mawsil, Diyar Bakr, and Diyar Mudar (from al-Jazirah).
