Then the year 331 AH began
وَفِيهَا قَبَضَ نَاصِرُ الدَّوْلَةِ عَلَى الْوَزِيرِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْقَرَارِيطِيِّ، وَرَتَّبَ مَكَانَهُ أَبَا الْعَبَّاسِ أَحْمَدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانَيَّ فِي رَجَبٍ، وَكَانَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْكُوفِيُّ هُوَ الَّذِي يُدَبِّرُ الْأُمُورَ، وَكَانَتْ وِزَارَةُ الْقَرَارِيطِيِّ ثَمَانِيَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَسِتَّةَ عَشَرَ يَوَمًا، وَكَانَ نَاصِرُ الدَّوْلَةِ يَنْظُرُ فِي قِصَصِ النَّاسِ وَتُقَامُ الْحُدُودُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ، وَيَفْعَلُ مَا يَفْعَلُ صَاحِبُ الشُّرْطَةِ.
Translation
✧ In this year, Nāṣir al-Dawlah seized the vizier Abū Isḥāq al-Qarārīṭī, and appointed in his place Abū al-ʿAbbās Aḥmad b. ʿAbd Allāh al-Aṣbahānī in Rajab. Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Kūfī was the one administering affairs. The vizierate of al-Qarārīṭī lasted eight months and sixteen days. Nāṣir al-Dawlah used to examine the petitions of the people, prescribed punishments were carried out before him, and he did what the prefect of police does.
