Then the year 331 AH began
فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ فِي الْمُحَرَّمِ وَصَلَ مُعِزُّ الدَّوْلَةِ بْنُ بُوَيْهِ إِلَى الْبَصْرَةِ، فَحَارَبَ الْبَرِيدِيِّينَ، وَأَقَامَ عَلَيْهِمْ مُدَّةً، ثُمَّ اسْتَأْمَنَ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ قُوَّادِهِ إِلَى الْبَرِيدِيِّينَ، فَاسْتَوْحَشَ مِنَ الْبَاقِينَ، فَانْصَرَفَ عَنْهُمْ.
Translation
✧ In this year, in Muḥarram, Muʿizz al-Dawlah b. Buwayh arrived at al-Baṣrah. He fought the Barīdīs and remained stationed against them for a period. Then a group of his commanders sought safe-conduct with the Barīdīs, so he became wary of the rest and withdrew from them.
