Then the Year 330 AH Began
وَفِيهَا فِي ذِي الْقِعْدَةِ، قَلَّدَ الْمُتَّقِي لِلَّهِ بَدْرًا الْخَرْشَنِيَّ طَرِيقَ الْفُرَاتِ، فَسَارَ إِلَى الْإِخْشِيدِ مُسْتَأْمِنًا، فَقَلَّدَهُ بَلْدَةَ دِمَشْقَ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ مُدَّةٍ، حُمَّ وَمَاتَ بِهَا.
Translation
✧ In this year, in Dhū al-Qaʿdah, al-Muttaqī lillāh appointed Badr al-Kharshanī over the route of the Euphrates. He set out to al-Ikhshīd seeking safe-conduct, and al-Ikhshīd appointed him over the city of Damascus. Then, after a period, he fell ill with a fever and died there.
