Translation

✧ The Siege of al-Rayy In this year, Musʿab ordered ʿAttāb b. Warqāʾ al-Riyāḥī, his governor over Iṣbahān, to march to al-Rayy and fight its people because they had aided the Khawārij against Yazīd b. al-Ḥārith b. Ruwaym, and had withheld their city from him. So ʿAttāb marched against them, encamped near them, and fought them, while al-Farrukhān was their leader. ʿAttāb pressed them hard in battle, and he conquered the city by force and plundered what was in it, and he conquered the rest of the fortresses in its surrounding districts.
