✧ He saw Abu Barzah al-Aslami praying while holding the reins of his mount in his hand. When he bowed, the reins slipped from his hand, and the mount went off. Abu Barzah stepped backward on his heels without turning around until he caught up with the mount and took it. Then he walked as he was, returned to the place where he had been praying, completed his prayer, then said the salam. Then he said: “I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on many expeditions—until he counted expeditions—and I saw his rukhsah (concession) and his facilitation, so I adopted that. If I had left my mount to reach the desert, then had gone as an old man stumbling in the darkness, that would have been harder for me.”
