✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse while his Companions were with him: {O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing} [al-Hajj:1] to the end of the verse. Then he said, "Do you know which day that is?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "That is the day when Allah will say to Adam, 'Arise and send forth the portion of the Fire,' or he said, 'a portion to the Fire.' Then he will say, 'O Lord, from how many?' He said, 'From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to Paradise.'" That distressed the people, and gloom and sorrow fell upon them. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise." So they rejoiced. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "Work and rejoice, for you are between two creations that were never with anyone except that they outnumbered them: Ya'juj and Ma'juj. You are among mankind—or among the nations—like a black hair on the side of a camel, or like a mark on the foreleg of a she-camel. Indeed, my nation is one part of a thousand parts."
