✧ I was in Madinah when I saw a man from whom the people fled when they saw him. I said: Who are you? He said: I am Abu Dharr, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I said: Why do the people flee from you? He said: "I forbid them from treasures with that which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to forbid them." I said: Our grants have increased today and reached a high amount; do you fear anything for us? He said: "As for today, no, but it is near that they will become the price of your religion. When they become the price of your religion, then leave them and beware of them."
