أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُرَيْشٍ ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَائِذٍ عُفَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سُلَيْمَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْكَلَاعِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ
«الشَّامُ صَفْوَةُ اللَّهِ مِنْ بِلَادِهِ يَسُوقُ إِلَيْهَا صَفْوَةَ عِبَادِهِ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنَ الشَّامِ إِلَى غَيْرِهَا فَبِسُخْطِهِ وَمَنْ دَخَلَ مِنْ غَيْرِهَا فَبِرَحْمَتِهِ»

✧ "Syria is the choice land of Allah; He drives to it His chosen servants. Whoever leaves Syria for elsewhere does so under His displeasure, and whoever enters it from elsewhere does so by His mercy."
