✧ He entered the house while 'Uthman was besieged in it, and he heard Abu Hurayrah asking 'Uthman for permission to speak. He permitted him, so he stood, praised Allah Almighty and extolled Him, then said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "You will encounter after me a trial and discord," or he said, "discord and trial." A speaker said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you command us?" He said, "Cling to the commander and his companions," indicating thereby 'Uthman.
