أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الشَّذُورِيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ الْعُقَيْلِيِّ عَنْ مُرَّةَ الْبَهْزِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«يُفْتَحُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ فِتَنٌ كَصَيَاصِيِّ الْبَقَرِ» فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ مُقَنَّعٌ فَقَالَ «هَذَا يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى الْحَقِّ» فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَخَذْتُ بِمَجَامِعِ ثَوْبِهِ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «هَذَا» قَالَ فَإِذَا هُوَ عُثْمَانُ

✧ "Trials will be opened upon the earth like the horns of cattle." A veiled man passed by, and he said, "This one on that day will be upon the truth." So I got up to him and took hold of the folds of his garment and said, "Is it this one, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "This one." He said: And it was 'Uthman.
