حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْجُعْفِيُّ ثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ثَنَا طَالِبُ بْنُ حُجَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي هُودُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ مَزِيدَةَ قَالَ

لَمَّا قَدِمْنَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَخْرَجُوا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَمْرًا مِنْ تَمَرَاتِهِمْ فَجَعَلُوا يَأْكُلُونَهُ فَسَمَّى تِلْكَ التَّمَرَاتِ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ فَقَالُوا مَا نَحْنُ بِأَعْلَمَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنْ أَسْمَائِهَا مِنْكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ أَطْعَمَنَا مِنْ بَقِيَّةِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَذَا الْبَرْنِيُّ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ تُمُورِكُمْ وَهُوَ دَوَاءٌ لَا دَاءَ فِيهِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ When we came to the Prophet ﷺ, they brought out to the Prophet ﷺ dates from their dates, and they began eating them. He named those dates by their names, and they said, "We are not more knowledgeable of their names than you, O Messenger of Allah." Then he said to a man, "Feed us from the remainder of the muqarrabin." The Prophet ﷺ said, "This is barni, and it is the best of your dates, and it is a remedy with no disease in it." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
