أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَ هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شَيْبَةُ الْخُضَرِيُّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ

ثَلَاثٌ أَحْلِفُ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَالرَّابِعُ لَوْ حَلَفْتُ عَلَيْهِ لَرَجَوْتُ أَنْ لَا آثَمَ لَا يَجْعَلُ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا لَهُ سَهْمٌ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ كَمَنْ لَا سَهْمَ لَهُ وَلَا يَتَوَلَّى اللَّهَ عَبْدٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَيُوَلِّيَهُ غَيْرَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا يُحِبُّ رَجُلٌ قَوْمًا إِلَّا كَانَ مَعَهُمْ أَوْ مِنْهُمْ وَالرَّابِعَةُ لَوْ حَلَفْتُ عَلَيْهَا لَرَجَوْتُ أَنْ لَا آثَمَ لَا يَسْتُرُ اللَّهُ عَلَى عَبْدٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا سَتَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ

Translation

✧ Three things I swear by them, and a fourth if I were to swear by it I would hope not to sin: Allah will not make a servant who has a share in Islam like one who has no share; no servant takes Allah as his protector in this world and then Allah entrusts him to other than Him on the Day of Resurrection; and no man loves a people except that he will be with them or among them. And the fourth, if I were to swear by it I would hope not to sin: Allah does not conceal a servant in this world except that Allah will conceal him in the Hereafter.

  • قَالَ فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ «إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ مِثْلَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَاحْفَظُوهُ وَاحْتَفِظُوا بِهِ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

    machine translationHe said: I narrated it to ʿUmar b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, and ʿUmar said: "If you hear a hadith like this from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then memorize it and hold fast to it." Al-Dhahabī remained silent about it in al-Talkhīṣ.
