أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ أَنْبَأَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُلْوَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ أَعُودُهُ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ «وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ مِيرَاثِ الْعَمَّةِ وَالْخَالَةِ فَإِنَّ فِي نَفْسِي مِنْهَا حَاجَةً»

✧ I entered upon Abu Bakr al-Siddiq during the illness in which he died, visiting him. I heard him say, 'I wish I had asked the Prophet ﷺ about the inheritance of the paternal aunt and the maternal aunt, for I have a need in my heart regarding it.'
