✧ While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on one of his journeys, his companions drew near in their travel, so he raised his voice with these two verses: {O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the quaking of the Hour is a tremendous thing. On the day you see it, every nursing mother will be distracted from what she nurses, and every pregnant woman will deliver her burden, and you will see people drunk, though they are not drunk, but the punishment of Allah is severe} [Al-Hajj: 1–2]. When his companions heard that, they urged their mounts on and knew that he was about to say something. When they gathered around him, he said: “Do you know which day that is?” They said: “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said: “That is the day when Adam will be called, and his Lord will call him and say: ‘O Adam, send forth the delegation of the Fire.’ He will say: ‘What is the delegation of the Fire?’ He will say: ‘From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to Paradise.’” He said: so they were struck with despair until they did not even show a smile. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw that, he said: “Know and rejoice, for by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are with two creations that never accompany anything except that they make it numerous: Ya’juj and Ma’juj, and those who have perished from among the children of Adam and the children of Iblis.” He said: so that relieved the people. He said: “Know and rejoice, for by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are among mankind only like a mark on the foreleg of a beast, or like a mole on the side of a camel.”
