✧ We were sitting around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he mentioned tribulation, or it was mentioned in his presence. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When you see that people's covenants have become corrupted, their trusts have become light, and they are like this'—and he interlaced his fingers. I stood up to him and said: 'What should I do, O Messenger of Allah, may Allah make me your ransom?' He said: 'Stay in your house, control your tongue, accept what you know, abandon what you reject, attend to your own private affairs, and leave aside the affairs of the common people.'
