أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ ثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثَنَا زَائِدَةُ عَنْ بَيَانٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَرِيحَةَ قَالَ

حَمَلَنِي أَهْلِي عَلَى الْجَفَاءِ بَعْدَمَا عَلِمْتُ السُّنَّةَ كُنَّا نُضَحِّي بِالشَّاةِ وَالشَّاتَيْنِ عَنْ أَهْلِ الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ أَهْلِي إِنَّ جِيرَانَنَا يَزْعُمُونَ إِنَّمَا بِنَا الْبُخْلُ

✧ My family made me act harshly after I learned the Sunnah. We used to sacrifice one or two sheep on behalf of the household, but my family said, 'Our neighbors think we are stingy.'
