أَخْبَرَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ اشْتَكَى رَجُلٌ بَطْنَهُ مِنَ الصَّفَرِ فَنُعِتَ لَهُ السَّكَرِ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ
«إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يَجْعَلْ شِفَاءَكُمْ فِيمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ»

✧ "A man complained about his stomach ache, so diabetes was diagnosed for him. He mentioned that to Abdullah, who said, 'Indeed, Allah has not placed your cure in that which He has forbidden upon you.' Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary."
