حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَرَّازُ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي مَسِيرٍ أَوْ سَيْرٍ فَأَظَلَّنَا غَيْمٌ فَتَحَيَّرْنَا فَاخْتَلَفْنَا فِي الْقِبْلَةِ فَصَلَّى كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَّا عَلَى حِدَةٍ فَجَعَلَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنَّا يَخُطُّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ لِنَعْلَمَ أَمْكِنَتَنَا فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَمْ يَأْمُرْنَا بِالْإِعَادَةِ وَقَالَ «قَدْ أَجْزَأَتْ صَلَاتُكُمْ»

✧ We prayed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during a journey, and clouds overshadowed us, so we were confused and differed about the qiblah. Each one of us prayed in a different direction, and each one of us drew a line in front of him so that we would know our places. We mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, and he did not command us to repeat the prayer, and he said: "Your prayer is sufficient."
