حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثَنَا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ الرَّقَاشِيُّ ثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ثَنَا حَسَّانُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ قَالَ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا بِأَرْضِ مَخْمَصَةٍ فَمَا يَحِلُّ لَنَا مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ؟ قَالَ «إِذَا لَمْ تَصْطَبِحُوا وَلَمْ تَغْتَبِقُوا وَلَمْ تُحْتِفُوا فَشَأْنُكُمْ بِهَا»

✧ I said, "O Messenger of Allah, we are in a land of famine, so what carrion is permissible for us?" He said, "When you do not drink the morning draught, nor the evening draught, and do not gather vegetables, then you may make use of it."
