حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَوْفِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الطَّائِيُّ بِحِمْصَ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ ثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ثَنَا أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنِي صَالِحُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي جُمُعَةَ قَالَ
تَغَدَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَعَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ قَالَ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَحَدٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَّا أَسْلَمْنَا مَعَكَ وَجَاهَدْنَا مَعَكَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ قَوْمٌ يَكُونُونَ بَعْدَكُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِي وَلَمْ يَرَوْنِي»

✧ We had lunch with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and with us was Abū ʿUbaydah b. al-Jarrāḥ. We said, "O Messenger of Allah, is there anyone better than us? We embraced Islam with you and fought with you." He said, "Yes, a people who will come after you, who believe in me though they have not seen me."
