أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْلَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَسْرُوقِيُّ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ثَنَا الْمِنْهَالُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ لَيْلَى مَوْلَاةِ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِقَضَاءِ حَاجَتِهِ فَدَخَلْتُ فَلَمْ أَرَ شَيْئًا وَوَجَدْتُ رِيحَ الْمِسْكِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَمْ أَرَ شَيْئًا قَالَ «إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ أُمِرْتْ أَنْ تَكْفِيَهُ مِنَّا مَعَاشِرَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered to relieve himself, so I entered and did not see anything, and I found the scent of musk. I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I did not see anything.' He said: 'The earth has been commanded to consume it from us, the company of prophets.'

  • قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى «قَدْ بَقِيَ عَلَيَّ فِي الصَّحَابِيَّاتِ جَمَاعَةٌ لَمْ أَذْكُرْهُنَّ إِيثَارًا لِلتَّخْفِيفِ وَخَشْيَةَ تَطْوِيلِ الْكِتَابِ وَأَيْضًا فَإِنِّي تَرْجَمْتُ كِتَابَ الصَّحَابَةِ لِلْفَضَائِلِ وَلَسْتُ أَجِدُ الْفَضَائِلَ بَعْدَ أَزْوَاجِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَّا لِبَعْضِهِنَّ فَاسْتَخَرْتُ اللَّهَ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى وَجَعَلْتُ آخِرَ الْكِتَابِ كِتَابَ مَنَاقِبِ الصَّحَابَةِ أَجْمَعِينَ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص
