✧ I met Aisha while she was returning from Makkah, myself and a son of Talha b. Ubayd Allah, who was her nephew. We had entered one of the walled gardens of Madinah and taken something from it. News of that reached her, and she turned to her nephew, blaming and reproaching him. Then she turned to me and gave me an eloquent admonition, then said: "Do you not know that Allah, exalted is He, drove you until He placed you among the household of His Prophet? By Allah, Maymuna has gone, and your nose rope has been thrown onto your withers. She was among the most pious of us toward Allah, may He be glorified, and among the most devoted of us to maintaining family ties."
