✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Umm Habibah bt. Abi Sufyan. She had previously been married to 'Ubayd Allah b. Jahsh al-Asadi, of the Asad of Khuzaymah. He died while she was in the land of Abyssinia, having taken her there as an emigrant from Makkah. Then he was tried and became a Christian, and died a Christian, while Allah confirmed Islam and the emigration for Umm Habibah. Her husband became a Christian and died a Christian, but Umm Habibah bt. Abi Sufyan refused to become a Christian, and Allah, exalted is He, completed Islam and the emigration for her until she arrived in Madinah. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ proposed to her, and 'Uthman b. 'Affan gave her in marriage to him." Al-Zuhri said: "They claimed that the Prophet ﷺ wrote to the Negus, and he gave her in marriage to him and paid on his behalf forty uqiyyahs."
