- al-Shaykh Abū Bakr b. Isḥāq Anbaʾ Abū Muslim
✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us: Hatim b. Isma'il narrated to us: Yazid b. Abi 'Ubayd narrated to us: I heard 'Umayr, the freedman of Abi al-Lahm, say: My master ordered me to cut meat into strips for him. A poor person came to me, and I fed him some of it. My master beat me, so I went to Allah's Messenger ﷺ and mentioned it to him. He summoned him and said, "Why did you beat him?" He said, "He fed my food without my order." Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "The reward is between you two." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
