✧ A man from the Bedouins believed in the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Shall I emigrate with you?" The Prophet ﷺ enjoined his Companions to look after him. When the expedition of Khaybar or Hunayn took place, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ acquired some booty and distributed it, and he allotted a share for him. He gave his Companions what he had allotted for him, and the man was tending their riding animals. When he came, they handed it over to him. He said, "What is this?" They said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ allotted it for you." He took it and went to him and said, "O Muhammad, this is not what I followed you for. Rather, I followed you so that I might be shot here"—and he pointed to his throat with an arrow—"and die and enter Paradise." He said, "If you are true to Allah, He will be true to you." They stayed a little while, then they advanced to fight the enemy. He was brought carried, having been struck by an arrow where he had pointed. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Is it he?" They said, "Yes." He said, "He was true to Allah, so He was true to him." The Prophet ﷺ shrouded him, then brought him forward and prayed over him. Among what appeared of his prayer over him was: "O Allah, this is Your servant who went out as an emigrant in Your path and was killed as a martyr, and I am a witness over him." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the Talkhis.
