أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَبَّانِيُّ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأُمَوِيُّ ثَنَا أَبِي ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ بِيَدِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ضَرْبَةً قُلْتُ مَتَى أَصَابَكَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ «يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ» قُلْتُ أَدْرَكْتُ حُنَيْنًا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَقَبْلَ ذَلِكَ»
