حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ
«عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أَوْفَى وَاسْمُ أَبِي أَوْفَى عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ هَوَازِنَ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ بْنِ أَفْصَى وَيُكَنَّى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَبَا مُعَاوِيَةَ وَأَوَّلُ مَشْهَدٍ شَهِدَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أَوْفَى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عِنْدَنَا خَيْبَرَ وَمَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ الْمَشَاهِدَ وَلَمْ يَزَلْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي أَوْفَى بِالْمَدِينَةِ حَتَّى قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَتَحَوَّلَ إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ فَنَزَلَهَا حِينَ نَزَلَهَا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَابْتَنَى بِهَا دَارًا فِي أَسْلَمَ وَكَانَ قَدْ ذَهَبَ بَصَرُهُ وَتُوُفِّيَ بِالْكُوفَةِ سَنَةَ سِتٍّ وَثَمَانِينَ»

✧ Abdullah b. Abi Awfa, and the name of Abu Awfa is Alqamah b. Khalid b. al-Harith b. Abi Usayd b. Rifa'ah b. Tha'labah b. Hawazin b. Aslam b. Afsa. Abdullah is given the kunya Abu Mu'awiyah. The first battle that Abdullah b. Abi Awfa witnessed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, according to us, was Khaybar, and then the battles after that. Abdullah b. Abi Awfa remained in Madinah until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away, then he moved to Kufa and settled there when the Muslims settled there, and he built a house in the Aslam quarter. He had lost his sight, and he died in Kufa in the year eighty-six.
