✧ Abu Hurairah al-Dawsi; "And the Dispute Over His Name and His Father's Name

أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَمَالُ ثَنَا أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ فَهْدُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ فَيْرُوزٍ الدَّانَاجُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنِي أَبُو رَافِعٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ «حَفِظْتُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَحَادِيثَ مَا حَدَّثْتُكُمْ بِهَا وَلَوْ حَدَّثْتُكُمْ بِحَدِيثٍ مِنْهَا لَرَجَمْتُمُونِي بِالْأَحْجَارِ»

✧ I heard Abu Hurayrah say: 'I memorized from the hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ hadiths that I have not narrated to you, and if I narrated one of them to you, you would stone me with rocks.'
