حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رُسْتَةَ ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ
«أَبُو الْيَسَرِ اسْمُهُ كَعْبُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ بْنِ سَوَّادٍ وَشَهِدَ أَبُو الْيَسَرِ الْعَقَبَةَ فِي جَمِيعِ الرِّوَايَاتِ وَشَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَهُوَ ابْنُ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً وَشَهِدَ أُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا قَصِيرًا دَحْدَاحًا ذَا بَطْنٍ وَتُوُفِّيَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ وَخَمْسِينَ»

✧ Abu al-Yasar's name is Ka'b b. 'Amr b. 'Abbad b. 'Amr b. Ghaziyya b. Sawwad. Abu al-Yasar witnessed al-'Aqaba in all the narrations, and he witnessed Badr when he was twenty years old, and he witnessed Uhud, the Trench, and all the battles with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He was a short, stocky man with a belly, and he died in Madinah in the year 55.
