✧ "Why do you insult Ali ibn Abi Talib? Wasn't he the first to embrace Islam? Wasn't he the first to pray with the Messenger of Allah? Wasn't he the most ascetic of people? Wasn't he the most knowledgeable of people?" He continued, saying, "Wasn't he the one whom the Messenger of Allah circumcised his daughter? Wasn't he the companion of the Messenger of Allah in his expeditions?" Then he turned towards the Qibla and raised his hands and said, "O Allah, this person insults one of Your close allies, so do not disperse this gathering until You show them Your power." Qays said, "By Allah, we did not disperse until his beast screamed and threw him upon his forehead in those rocks, and his brain split and he died."
