حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ بَالَوَيْهِ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ وَمَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ مَخْلَدِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ بْنِ نِيَارِ بْنِ لَوْذَانَ بْنِ خَزْرَجٍ يُكَنَّى أَبَا
مَعْنٍ قِيلَ مَاتَ بِمِصْرَ وَقِيلَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ سَنَةَ سِتِّينَ شَهِدَ أُحُدًا وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا وَفِيهِ يَقُولُ حَسَّانُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ [البحر المتقارب] هَا إِنَّ ذَا خَالِي أُبَاهِي بِهِ فَلْيُرِنِي كُلَّ امْرِئٍ خَالَهُ

✧ Ma'n: It is said he died in Egypt, and it is said in Madinah, in the year sixty. He witnessed Uhud and all the battles. About him Hassan b. Thabit said (in the meter al-bahr al-mutaqarib): "Indeed this is my maternal uncle; I boast of him, so let every man show me his maternal uncle."
