حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ الْإِمَامُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَزَّازُ ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ الرَّبَاعُ ثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الزَّنْجِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حُوَيْطِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى قَالَ

«كُنَّا قُعُودًا يَوْمًا بِفِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ إِذْ جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ تَعَوَّذُ بِالْكَعْبَةِ مِنْ زَوْجِهَا فَجَاءَ زَوْجُهَا فَمَدَّ يَدَهُ إِلَيْهَا فَيَبُسَتْ يَدُهُ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَإِنَّهُ لَأَشَلٌّ»

✧ We were sitting one day in the courtyard of the Ka'ba in the Jahiliyya when a woman came seeking refuge with the Ka'ba from her husband. Her husband came and stretched his hand toward her, and his hand withered. I saw him in Islam, and he was indeed paralyzed.
