حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْأَسَدِيُّ الْحَافِظُ بِهَمْدَانَ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً دَخَلَتْ بَيْتَ عَائِشَةَ فَصَلَّتْ عِنْدَ بَيْتِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَهِيَ صَحِيحَةٌ فَسَجَدَتْ فَلَمْ تَرْفَعْ رَأْسَهَا حَتَّى مَاتَتْ فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ إِنَّ فِي هَذِهِ لَعِبْرَةً لِي فِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَقَدَ فِي مَقِيلٍ لَهُ قَالَهُ فَذَهَبُوا يُوقِظُونَهُ فَوَجَدُوهُ قَدْ مَاتَ» فَدَخَلَ نَفْسَ عَائِشَةَ تُهْمَةُ أَنْ يَكُونَ صُنِعَ بِهِ شَرٌّ وَعَجَّلَ عَلَيْهِ فَدُفِنَ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ فَرَأَتْ أَنَّهُ عِبْرَةٌ لَهَا وَذَهَبَ مَا كَانَ فِي نَفْسِهَا مِنْ ذَلِكَسكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ A woman entered Aisha’s house and prayed near the Prophet’s ﷺ chamber while she was healthy. She prostrated and did not raise her head until she died. Aisha said: “Praise be to Allah who gives life and causes death. In this there is a lesson for me regarding Abdur-Rahman b. Abi Bakr. He slept in a noon resting place of his, and they went to wake him and found that he had died.” Into Aisha’s soul came the suspicion that some evil had been done to him and that he had been hastened upon and buried while still alive. She saw that this was a lesson for her, and what was in her soul about that departed.
