✧ I heard Jabir b. Samura say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed with Abu Ayyub, and when he ate food, he would send him the leftovers. Abu Ayyub would look at the place where the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ hand had been and eat from where his hand had been. One day he made food containing garlic and sent it to him, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned it. Abu Ayyub came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I did not see the traces of your fingers.' He said, 'It had garlic in it.' Shu'ba said in his narration: 'Is it forbidden?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No.' Hammad said in his narration: 'O Messenger of Allah, you sent back to me what you did not eat.' He said, 'You are not like me; the angel comes to me.'
