أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيُّ عَنْ عَمِّهِ رَافِعِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيِّ قَالَ
كُنْتُ أَرْمِي نَخْلًا لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ فَرَآنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا غُلَامُ لِمَ تَرْمِي النَّخْلَ؟» فَقُلْتُ آكُلُ قَالَ «فَلَا تَرْمِ النَّخْلَ وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَسْقُطُ فِي أَسْفَلِهَا» ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسِي وَقَالَ «اللَّهُمَّ أَشْبِعْ بَطْنَهُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

✧ I was throwing stones at the date-palm trees of the Ansar while I was a boy. The Prophet ﷺ saw me and said: "O boy, why are you throwing stones at the date-palms?" I said: 'I eat (from them).' He said: "Do not throw stones at the date-palms, but eat what falls beneath them." Then he wiped my head and said: "O Allah, fill his belly."
